Tummy Tuck
Removes excess abdominal skin and tightens weakened muscle, often after pregnancy or major weight loss.
Overview
Abdominoplasty addresses loose skin and separated abdominal muscle that diet and exercise cannot fully correct, most commonly after pregnancy or substantial weight loss. We tailor the incision and technique — full, or a shorter mini approach — to your anatomy, and we're upfront that this is a longer recovery than liposuction alone.
What to expect
The journey
- 01
Consultation and muscle assessment
We examine skin excess and check for diastasis recti (muscle separation) to plan the appropriate repair.
- 02
Pre-operative planning
We discuss incision length, combination with liposuction, and realistic scar placement below the bikini line.
- 03
Procedure day
Surgery generally takes two to three hours under general anesthesia at our accredited facility.
- 04
Drain management
Temporary drains are placed and typically removed within the first one to two weeks.
Afterward
Recovery
- 01
Weeks 1–2
Walking in a slightly bent posture is normal; most patients need help with daily tasks during this period.
- 02
Weeks 3–6
Drains are removed and mobility improves steadily; most return to desk work around week three or four.
- 03
3–12 months
Swelling continues to resolve gradually, with the scar maturing and fading over the first year.
